Monaco's manager, Vahid Halilhodžić, has signed a renewed contract with the club until 2028, cementing his status as one of Europe's top managers.
The 47-year-old Croatian has been at Monaco for four years and has overseen several successful campaigns in Ligue 1, including two league titles and a Champions League qualification.
Halilhodžić's contract renewal is a major boost for Monaco, who have been heavily linked with some of Europe's biggest clubs this summer.
The news comes after Monaco failed to secure a place in the Champions League last season, but the club remains hopeful of securing a place in the competition next term.
With the addition of Halilhodžić's contract extension, Monaco will be hoping to build on their impressive performances under the former AC Milan coach, who has led Monaco to five consecutive Europa League appearances since taking over from Leonardo Jardim in June 2019.
"The club's ambition is to win more silverware and that's why we're very happy to extend Vahid's contract," Monaco chairman Vadim Vasilyev said in a statement. "He's proven himself as one of the best coaches in Europe and he's a key part of our future plans."
With the added security of Halilhodžić's services, Monaco can now focus on building a squad capable of competing at the highest level in European football. The club has already made significant progress in recent months, signing highly-rated young talent such as Kylian Mbappe and N'Golo Kante, as well as bringing in experienced players such as Fabien Barthez and David Alaba.
The future looks bright for Monaco, and with Halilhodžić leading the way, there is no doubt that they will continue to be one of the most exciting teams in Europe.
