FC Augsburg has acquired young winger Alexander Krawczyk from Tottenham Hotspur for six-month loan with the option to buy, making him one of the Bundesliga's youngest players.
The move comes after the German club announced the signing of another promising youth player in the form of Christian Pogba, who was also linked with the club earlier this year.
Krawczyk, who is only 17 years old, had previously played for several top-flight clubs including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, but he impressed on his debut for Augsburg last season.
Now that he has been given the opportunity to develop at the club, he will be hoping to impress manager Martin Riedel and fellow players before being able to make his senior debut next season.
Riedel praised Krawczyk's talent and said: "He is a talented youngster who has shown great potential over the past two seasons.
"He is only just turning 18, so we have to make sure that he is not let down by any mistakes made during his time here."
However, it remains to be seen whether Krawczyk can replicate the success of his predecessor, Christian Pogba, who made 24 appearances in the Premier League for Manchester United last season.
But regardless of whether or not he succeeds in making his debut, it is clear that Krawczyk is destined for big things at FC Augsburg.
As he looks towards his future, he will need to continue developing as a player and work hard to prove himself to the coaching staff and fans alike.
